Sustainable Summer

Sustainable Summer hosts a diverse, motivated, and intellectually curious group of students each summer. The participants are overwhelmingly involved in their school's environmental clubs, started recycling/composting programs, and harbor a love for preserving the earth. They are also at home gardeners, hikers, bikers, and backpackers. They are interested in studying environmental engineering or conservation; they are the voice of their generation on the most important issue of the day; they are future environmental leaders. Programs include: Business & Entrepreneurship, Conservation, Cultural Sustainability, Ecology, Energy, Food & Agriculture, Homesteading & Self-Sufficiency, International Aid & Development, Policy & Government, Sustainable Design & Building, and Urban Planning in locations such as Costa Rica, Ecuador, the Galapagos, Cuba, and India. Visit https://sustainablesummer.org/programs/ for more details.

"Sustainable Summer is a program that aims to inform students about our current environmental state. While on the trip, you learn about the environmental policy in the country you are in, and how things are changing with different attitudes many have toward crises such as climate change and oil drilling. While on the trip, you'll take a few daily excursions, maybe end up at a waterfall, a lake, a cave, maybe even the beach. You'll be exposed to deep engagement within your respective country, hands-on conservation activities, and critical reflection and action planning to create future environmental a

dvocates"
